There were a lot of unique leotards from a lot of different and not-the-typical teams. We saw some beautiful numbers from Missouri and LSU, as well as some… Interesting ones from the likes of BYU. The judging criteria is the same as always. But for a refresh: up to three points for design; two points for fabric, sparkle, etc.; and two points for school spirit; three points for overall appearance. After assigning points to each category, we’ll tally up the scores and average them with the previous week’s. So by the end of the season, we’ll know for sure which team has the best leotards (according to us) and which teams not so much. We want to know what you thought too (or if we forgot one of your favorites from this weekend)! Let us know in the comments below or on Twitter. And make sure to vote in our poll at the bottom of the page to make your opinion heard in the fan vote, new this season.

Things were right in the universe after week two of NCAA gymnastics. Georgia was out of the 193 dumps after a what we can only imagine was a stern talking to by Suzanne Yoculan, Stanford was still all over the place and we had just enough balance beam situations to feel like everything’s right with the world. But the worst thing to come out of the weekend was the unfortunate injury to Arkansas senior Amanda Wellick, who went down in warmups and did not compete. But that’s not all that happened as over 30 meets took place between Wednesday and Monday. So catch up on everything you might have missed.
By Elizabeth Grimsley It was another weekend of high scores and standout individual routines. While most teams competed for the second time, others kicked off their 2017 season. Rankings are starting to shake out a bit more and settle into the norm, but after just two weeks of averages, some things are still a bit interesting. For the full standings, click here.

Week two gets underway Friday with even more exciting matchups. Washington, Boise State, Nebraska and others will kickoff their seasons, including some highly anticipated freshmen the likes of Madison Copiak, Courtney McGregor and Taylor Houchin. We'll also see teams trying to either redeem themselves from week one, like Georgia, or keep the success going to prove week one wasn't a fluke, like LSU and Oklahoma. And like always, we'll give you and update on injured gymnasts, provide previews and our opinions on the outcomes of top meets, identify the teams on byes and those competing twice and provide every score and video link you could need to follow along.

But this year we have all new judges to help spice things up. Editors Caroline and Christina will join Elizabeth in analyzing leotards.
