By Christina Marmet At first glance, one might think this subdivision will be a walk in the park for Oklahoma, Utah and UCLA. While these three are coming in as the favorites to advance, we are also facing a subdivision with a high potential for upset and no team (other than Oklahoma, let’s be real) should considered itself as an absolute lock to make Super Six. As a reminder, the best three teams from each subdivision will advance to Super Six. Here, we basically have a repeat of the evening session of the Pac-12 championship with Utah, UCLA, Washington and Oregon State, along with the best two teams of the Big 12 conference, Oklahoma and Denver. We have already witnessed UCLA being challenged by Oregon State and Washington at Pac-12s, while Utah was distanced by Denver halfway through last week’s regionals. Anything is possible here, and none but Oklahoma have the luxury of giving an average performance here and hope to advance.

While the 12 teams that advanced to the NCAA National Championships next weekend have the week off to prepare and heal up, the USA Gymnastics National Championships will take center stage. Lindenwood comes in as the two-time defending champions but won't have an easy path to its third title in as many tries. Bridgeport holds the No. 1 seed with a season high of 195.050. However, the Lions have an identical RQS but hold a top score of 195.325 despite being the second seeded school. Texas Woman's comes in close behind as the No. 3 seed with a season high of 196.000 and a RQS just 0.070 behind that of Bridgeport and Lindenwood's. Cornell, Air Force, Yale, Brown, West Chester and Seattle Pacific round out the fourth through ninth seeded teams while Centenary, Penn and Southern Connecticut State will all be represented with individual competitors.

We had some *fire emoji* leotards this weekend with teams bringing their A game in what was a majority of the team’s last meets of the season. While some were amazing, pretty, sparkly and everything we could have dreamed for, others were… not so much. The criteria is the same as always. But to refresh your memory: up to three points for design; two points for fabric, sparkle, etc.; and two points for school spirit; three points for overall appearance. After assigning points to each category, we’ll tally up the scores and average them with the previous week’s. So by the end of the season, we’ll know for sure which team has the best leotards (according to us) and which teams not so much. We want to know what you thought too (or if we forgot one of your favorites from this weekend)! Let us know in the comments below or on Twitter. And make sure to vote in our poll at the bottom of the page to make your opinion heard in the fan vote, new this season.
By Elizabeth Grimsley, Christina Marmet and Caroline Medley It’s time for another round of NCAA Gym News Power Rankings. This week we’ll be coming up with our top 12 teams and assigning them each an elite gymnast we think best fits its season up to this point. But we don’t expect you to agree with our opinions 100 percent. Let us know your thoughts and who you have in your top 10 in the comments or on social media. If you’re a traditionalist or numbers freak, you can look at the Road to Nationals official rankings here. Tier 1: Oklahoma - Simone BilesThis one’s pretty obvious but we’ll explain it for you anyway. Simone is the queen of gymnastics. She’s dominate and basically the best gymnast to walk the planet. While Oklahoma still has a ways to go before being the best NCAA team ever, it is the queen right now. The Sooners are dominant, not only beating every team they come across but also hitting over 198 more times this season than all other teams combined. But like some people didn’t consider Simone really having made it until the Olympics, Oklahoma still has to prove itself at nationals when all the other teams are on the same playing field.

It was a somewhat straightforward day of regional competition with only a bit of drama as Nebraska and Washington overcame their No. 3-seed and booked their trips to nationals. Aside from finding out which teams and individuals will make their way to St. Louis, we also now know which semifinals will feature which teams. The afternoon session will include Oklahoma, Washington, Utah, Denver, UCLA and Oregon State while the evening session will have Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, LSU and Nebraska.
