We’re back today with the top 10 bar routines from the incoming freshmen. Putting up six consistent high scoring routines can be a struggle for many teams. These freshmen routines have scored consistently well and several are headed to schools that struggled on bars in 2017. Because the requirements for J.O. are different than those in NCAA, there are a few routines that will need to be upgraded or reconstructed to be considered “up to level” in NCAA.

Not only is it postseason in J.O. gymnastics with the level 10 national championships right around the corner but the regular signing period begun about two weeks ago as well. Which gymnasts are heading to your favorite school?

Every year, this regional promises a showdown between the second and third seeds. However, this season is likely to be even more exciting but also heartbreaking. While Oklahoma is the favorite to advance, the race for the second spot is going to make gym nerds cry. Kentucky has had a fairytale season, shattering expectations and looking like a strong contender to make it to the NCAAs for the first time ever as a team. However, it won’t be an easy path for the Wildcats as host team Washington is right on their heels and may just as well make it to nationals for the first time since 1998. Add to that Stanford as the fifth seed and that can definitely spoil the party. We are in for a tense evening in Seattle.
Don’t forget to enter your postseason predictions in the 2017 NCAA Gym Bracket Challenge! The deadline for submissions is Friday, March 31 at 7 p.m. ET.

There were a lot of unique leotards from a lot of different and not-the-typical teams. We saw some beautiful numbers from Missouri and LSU, as well as some… Interesting ones from the likes of BYU. The judging criteria is the same as always. But for a refresh: up to three points for design; two points for fabric, sparkle, etc.; and two points for school spirit; three points for overall appearance. After assigning points to each category, we’ll tally up the scores and average them with the previous week’s. So by the end of the season, we’ll know for sure which team has the best leotards (according to us) and which teams not so much. We want to know what you thought too (or if we forgot one of your favorites from this weekend)! Let us know in the comments below or on Twitter. And make sure to vote in our poll at the bottom of the page to make your opinion heard in the fan vote, new this season.
