By Elizabeth Grimsley While the standard response is "it's all about the team," individual event titles will be given out at the NCAA National Championships in St. Louis, this weekend. Champions on vault, bars, beam, floor and all around will be crowned as well as the top eight from each semifinal combined earning first-team All-America honors and those placing ninth to 16th will be named second-team All-Americans. While each of the 12 teams will put up individuals capable of winning the titles, a number of individuals without teams also qualified to compete in Missouri. It'll be a tight race, and really, whoever is on top of their form on that given day will walk away national champion.

By Caroline Medley With Semifinal II featuring LSU, Florida, Georgia and Alabama, it’s practically going to be a session two of SEC Champs redux. Only this time, the stakes are higher and fraught with more peril, because there are two more challengers of equal or higher caliber gunning for the same spots. On any good day, any of these teams could qualify to Super Six, so it will really come down to who can hit, and how well can they hit, on the day it counts.
By Elizabeth Grimsley, Christina Marmet and Caroline Medley It’s time for another round of NCAA Gym News Power Rankings. This week we’ll be coming up with our top 12 teams and assigning them each an elite gymnast we think best fits its season up to this point. But we don’t expect you to agree with our opinions 100 percent. Let us know your thoughts and who you have in your top 10 in the comments or on social media. If you’re a traditionalist or numbers freak, you can look at the Road to Nationals official rankings here. Tier 1: Oklahoma - Simone BilesThis one’s pretty obvious but we’ll explain it for you anyway. Simone is the queen of gymnastics. She’s dominate and basically the best gymnast to walk the planet. While Oklahoma still has a ways to go before being the best NCAA team ever, it is the queen right now. The Sooners are dominant, not only beating every team they come across but also hitting over 198 more times this season than all other teams combined. But like some people didn’t consider Simone really having made it until the Olympics, Oklahoma still has to prove itself at nationals when all the other teams are on the same playing field.

It's almost a given at this point that the majority of teams will hold a pink meet supporting breast cancer. While some teams succeed in their mission of bringing their leotard into this venture, others... Not so much.
The criteria is the same as normal meets except school spirit is replaced by pink meet spirit. And to refresh your memory on the other criteria: up to three points for design; two points for fabric, sparkle, etc.; and two points for spirit; three points for overall appearance. After assigning points to each category, we’ll tally up the scores and average them with the previous week’s. So by the end of the season, we’ll know for sure which team has the best leotards (according to us) and which teams not so much. We want to know what you thought too (or if we forgot one of your favorites from this weekend)! Let us know in the comments below or on Twitter. And make sure to vote in our poll at the bottom of the page to make your opinion heard in the fan vote, new this season. By Elizabeth Grimsley It’s finally that time of the year! We know where each of the top 36 teams in the country will travel to compete for a chance at advancing to nationals. In the days leading up to the championships, we’ll be previewing and analyzing each of the six regionals, discussing which teams have a chance of moving on and which individual could qualify as well. First up is the Morgantown regional, featuring No. 6 Alabama, No. 7 Michigan, No. 18 Southern Utah, No. 20 George Washington, No. 23 West Virginia and No. 31 Kent State.
