By Elizabeth Grimsley After a hard fought competition, Kai Rivers (future LSU gymnast) and Carly Bauman (future Michigan gymnast) claimed senior and junior titles, respectively, at the 2017 Nastia Liukin Cup. Overall, Michigan recruits had a strong showing with two finishers in the top five on the senior side to go along with Bauman's junior win.

With a fair few teams debuting new leotards for their senior night celebrations and rivalry meets, we have a lot of new beautiful creations to judge this week from LSU’s stunning number to MSU’s high-neck elegant piece. The criteria is the same as always: up to three points for design; two points for fabric, sparkle, etc.; and two points for school spirit; three points for overall appearance. After assigning points to each category, we’ll tally up the scores and average them with the previous week’s. So by the end of the season, we’ll know for sure which team has the best leotards (according to us) and which teams not so much. We want to know what you thought too (or if we forgot one of your favorites from this weekend)! Let us know in the comments below or on Twitter. And make sure to vote in our poll at the bottom of the page to make your opinion heard in the fan vote, new this season.
By Caroline Medley On a chilly Monday in February, the Boise State Broncos were on the bus home from Denver after scoring their second consecutive 197+ score. Bus trips are some of their best bonding experiences, according to sophomore Shani Remme, which contributes to their closeness as a team.
“I don’t have a particular [favorite], because we just have a lot of fun,” she said. But this trip would be especially memorable. Someone on the bus discovered the weekly rankings were in, and the Broncos now sat at No. 7—their highest ranking in program history. “When we saw we were seventh… We all started cheering and jumping around,” freshman Courtney McGregor said. “We were super excited!” But this would not be the pinnacle of the season for the Broncos.

What a weekend. The high scores were flying, rivalries were fierce and perfect 10s ran aplenty. While teams like Oklahoma had a dip, others like LSU, SUU and ASU had season or program bests— the Sundevils with their highest score since 2014 and an upset over in-state rival Arizona!
