UCLA Bruins

Renowned for their extravagant and compelling floor routines and unique gymnastics skills, the Bruins have a long tradition of excellence having won the NCAA national title six times (1997, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2010) and counting 34 individual national champions. In 2016, the team enjoyed a new celebrity status after Sophina DeJesus’ floor routine went viral, recording over 29 million views on Facebook alone. Relishing the increased attention and attendance records, the Bruins capped off a successful season by winning the Pac-12 Championship for the 17th time and placing fifth overall at nationals. The team also added another national champion to its rank when 2012 Olympic alternate for Great Britain Danusia Francis won balance beam. Alumni include numerous national, world and Olympic team members from around the world, including Yvonne Tousek, Leah Homma, Stella Umeh, Mohini Bhardwaj, Kristen Maloney, Tasha Schwikert, Jamie Dantzscher, Elyse Hopfner-Hibbs and Samantha Peszek. ​
