Penn State Nittany Lions
The Nittany Lions are another one of those teams regularly present at the NCAA Regional Championship and at the NCAA National Championships. They have made it to nationals as a team 17 times in program history, with the most recent being in 2014. Penn State boasts one individual national champion in Pam Loree, who won vault in 1986. The 2016 season was a rocky one for the Nittany Lions with up and down results, sidelined athletes and abuse allegations surrounding the coaching staff. The team finished fourth at the Big Ten Championships, fifth at regionals and sophomore Briannah Tsang qualified to nationals for floor. Some well-known former gymnasts are Brandi Personett, Sharaya Musser and Katie Rowland.
