Iowa Hawkeyes
The GymHawks have been under head coach Larissa Libby’s guidance for the last 12 seasons. They have appeared as a team at nationals in 2003 and 2004. In 2016, they finished the year ranked 18th after placing fifth at the Big Ten Championships, qualifying to NCAA regionals and sending Mollie Drenth to the NCAA National Championships. The GymHawks have qualified to regionals as a team eight times out of the last nine years, and frequently send individuals to nationals. The most notable former gymnast of the program is Houry Gebeshian who will compete at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio to represent Armenia, a first for both her and this small nation.
