George Washington Colonials
The GW gymnastics team concluded an exciting 2016 campaign by posting its highest-ever postseason team score with a 195.55 to place fifth at NCAA regionals. This was the Colonials’ 12th appearance at regionals. GW finished third at the 2016 EAGL Championship while sophomore Cami Drouin-Allaire won EAGL Gymnast of the Year and head coach Margie Foster-Cunningham won her second career EAGL Coach of the Year award. The team’s first and only EAGL title came in 2015 after rejoining the conference in 2004. The Colonials have also won five consecutive Atlantic 10 Conference titles (1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002) in their program history. The 2017 season should be just as successful for the Colonials who will be lead by Cami Drouin-Allaire and Jillian Winstanley and should be in the hunt for another EAGL title and regional appearance. Former successful Colonials include Devin McCalla, Jessica Mantak and Alexis Hrynko.
