California Golden Bears
The Golden Bears are undoubtedly coming off their best season to date, qualifying to the NCAA National Championships as a team for only the second time in program history and a first since 1992. To top it off, the Bears finished at a historic seventh place, and coaches Justin Howell and Liz Crandall-Howell received NCAA Coaches of the Year honors. After officially being cut in 2010, then reinstated following an outpouring of financial support, the program is now thriving under the leadership of Justin Howell and Liz Crandall-Howell who took over in June of 2012. The Bears have become a solid contender for the Pac-12 title, and we should expect the team to appear regularly at NCAAs in the next few years. Additionally, junior Toni-Ann Williams has qualified to compete at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, representing Jamaica and giving the country its first Olympian in women's gymnastics ever.
