Auburn Tigers
Auburn has been on the rise in the SEC and on the national scene since the arrival of head coach Jeff Graba in 2010. Graba, three-time SEC Coach of the Year, led Auburn to the NCAA Championships' Super Six in 2015 for the first time in 22 years, as well as to a first-place finish at the 2016 NCAA regionals for the first time in program history, thus advancing to their fifth national championship (1991, 1993, 2003, 2015, 2016). At nationals, the Tigers were not able to sneak into the Super Six and finished their season in 11th place after a disappointing performance in the semifinals. In the SEC, Auburn has skyrocketed through the rankings, passing Georgia to make it into the evening session of the championships two years in a row and becoming a strong contender for a conference title. The 2016 season also saw the Tigers snap a streak of 117-consecutive losses to the Crimson Tide in front of the third sellout in Auburn Arena gymnastics history.
Now with another solid freshman class coming in for the 2017 season, Auburn will undoubtedly continue to be a part of the conversation for SEC and NCAA titles. Successful former Tigers include 2016 SEC Gymnast of the Year Caitlin Atkinson, Bri Guy, Becky Erwin and Julie Dwyer.
