Arkansas
The Gymbacks are one of the younger teams in the NCAA, having been established only in 2003. They skyrocketed among the best teams in the nation within a few years, placing fifth at NCAAs in 2009, only six years after the birth of the program. The Gymbacks reached the Super Six again in 2012 and finished sixth. In 2014, Arkansas great Katherine Grable brought the program its first two national titles on vault and floor. The 2016 season brought more success to the Gymbacks. The team finished sixth at the SEC Championship, sending junior Amanda Wellick to the NCAA National Championships and earning a second SEC Coach of the Year award for head coach Mark Cook. During the 2017 season, the team will look to climb up the conference and national rankings but will have to rebound from the tough loss of Paige Zaziski, one of their best gymnasts and 2015 SEC Freshman of the Year, who is transferring to Michigan. Alongside Grable, other successful former Gymbacks include Casey Jo Magee, Jaime Pisani and Michelle Stout.
